This is great news for Old Fourth Ward...

"Ponce City Market is preparing for a major expansion. Atlanta developer Jamestown this month will start discussions with neighborhood leaders for the next phase of the more than 2 million-square-foot Old Fourth Ward project, which transformed the former Sears, Roebuck & Co. warehouse along the Atlanta Beltline into a bustling destination for tech companies, shoppers and diners."

Since they are making money hand over fist, this would be a fantastic opportunity for them to get in there and help the Little Man fund transit. Having transit come to their front door will raise their property values even more and bring in more customers, residents and tenants.

I agree, offer them a sponsorship of a stop or line along their property.

There's huge money in this.

The Falcons have sold $1 billion in sponsorships to help pay for their new football stadium.

Suntrust paid $250 million for naming rights at the new Braves stadium.

I'm sure the corporate defenders are going to say these big outfits don't have money for things like this and that they will be forced to raise prices. Yet somehow they do it all the time.

How much money have you DONATED to transit this year since you always want other people to help fund transit?

I have no issue selling naming rights to transit stations and lines. This is Atlanta, we used corporate sponsorship to pay for the Olympics.

Well, I've donated 1% of every dollar I spent for the last 40 years to transit. Now it's up to 1.5% of every dollar I spend for the next 40 years.

Would it be too burdensome for the big corporations and institutions and real estate developers to contribute, say, one-third of the amount we little folks do?
