Yes, I've heard this about Marietta Square as well.
A friend of mine that worked the lights at Theatre on the Square told me how new employees were initiated. The theatre was an apothecary at the turn of the 20th century; at night when they were closing down, they would have the new employee stand in the middle of the theatre and look towards the stage. Then they would shut off the lights (plunging the theatre into total darkness) and have the employee continue to focus on the stage in the darkness.
My friend swore that after a few minutes of staring, the image outlines of the old apothecary (shelves, bottles, soda fountain) began to emerge from the void. Really creepy...

No offense, but there is no such thing as ghosts or spirits. Any of this stuff you might have "seen" has a different explanation. How many of these sights happened while in bed? Also, with the amount of photography and video cameras in existence it's interesting how there is nothing credible to show for it.
I find the stories interesting (in a funny sort of way), but I'm a skeptic all the way.

The non-sentient energy signatures or patterns are going to repeat their patterns until it weakens (like side-band radio interference). People who can see them also sometimes mistake non-corporeal free spirits that aren't stuck here but just passing through as ghosts, but they aren't.
There aren't such things as bad ghosts or good ghosts. Generally, the "bad" ghosts or "demons" are just reacting to the energy around them. If you or others in the area give off fear and anger, and they don't have the ability to block it, then they absorb/feed on and project that energy. Ignore them, and don't give them energy, and they can't harm you. Feed them with fear and anger, and they can become harmful, but easily shut off once you stop feeding them.

Honestly, where do you get this nonsense? I'm sure you are a nice person, but reading this kind of thing drives me nuts. You have absolutely nothing... nothing to base this in any kind of reality.
Think any of this stuff can be proven or tested? Take the million dollar challenge:

Oh I hear you....old houses creep me out like that too. While living in Toronto Canada I rented a few old homes and 2 of them definately had spirits in them. When the house was quiet I too would hear whispers, my name being called, I had things crash to the floor, lights flicker, shadows in doorways or passing by a lit candle. I even had a family member visit and she too said while upstairs changing her baby something behind her called her name and she thought it was her husband--she turned around to say what? And no one was there. I also developed 2 pictures one with the outline of an old mans head in the upper window of door, and an outline of a head/body curled up in the bath tub. I mean these could have been glares from lights--but the figures were clearly outlined as people. It freaked me out and I moved shortly after that. Old houses creep me out--but even a remodeled, modern older house creeps me out too...

To the non believer---you came to the site on Hauntings....yet you doubt what people write. Why did you pick this particular site to read comments if you do not believe?? Just curious why you would waste your time on a site that posts about hauntings, yet you make fun of the comments made. Try a different blog or comment forum if these things bother you... Peace out

What, are we all 12-years-old on this board?
You think I didn't believe in ghosts back then? Some of the stuff people are posting is serious belief from adults. It's funny, but also kind of sad (a buzzkill on my end). It's some of the same kind of nonsense you might hear on a radio show like Art Bell or Alex Jones. It's baffling.

I came to a site on hauntings? You mean thread? I've been posting on this board for awhile now about various topics... everything is fair game. I don't consider it a waste of time to read things I don't believe and then comment on them. I'll bet every thread on this board has a dissenting voice about something.

We belivers are simply sharing our experiences, if you non believers haven't had similar experiences then you just haven't been worthy to have the other side pay you a visit. LOL. Don't get all offended and defensive. This is really all about fun when we share our storys with others.

Touche. Some others seemed offended that I seemed offended. Not really that big of a deal to me. Like I said, I find it interesting people believe this stuff and I know some here are having fun with it (even if they sort of do believe it's real).
