Hey everyone, My family and I are planning to relocate back to the area after living away for the past 4 years. Though I've visited since moving away, I'm still amazed and the changes that have occurred. For instance, the I-85 at pleasant hill exit-yeah, I almost got in an accident lol! How the university system is consolidating, I saw that GPC is now a part of GSU. Or the new rail shuttle system at the airport (which may have been there for a while, I normally get picked up). Oh and how when watching Flip or Flop Atlanta they mentioned the beltline, and I was thinking they meant I-285, not a park/nature area. Or a stadium in Marietta!?! So I wanted to know what are some of the more obvious or nuanced changes you've noticed?

Go to Ponce City Market for lunch and then walk south along the Beltline. It will be like you are seeing Atlanta for the first time.

I mean, the Beltline opened in 2013...so Atlanta has basically done an about face in that area - eastside Beltline - Ponce City Market to Krog Street Market, and everything in-between.

The westside has exploded along Howell Mill.

Midtown continues to explode with new residential high-rises.

Downtown now has a streetcar (and new mega-stadium), and seems on the cusp of developing into an actual destination for residents.

Gentrification has resulted in rapid change along the southwest portion of the Beltline.

And lots more...

We're seeing gentrification and rehab activity in SW Atlanta neighborhoods that even four years ago you never thought would see the light of day again.
