Roswell Mayor Jere Wood violated term limits, court says

Roswell Mayor Jere Wood has been removed from office, following a lawsuit from a resident claiming he had exceeded term limits he had put in place.

A Thursday order from Fulton County Superior Court Judge Craig Schwall said Wood, who was first elected in 1997, was ineligible to run in 2013, when he was last elected.

He ordered Wood be removed from office immediately.

“The office of Mayor of Roswell stands vacant and shall be filled pursuant to the terms of the City Charter,” the order reads.

Wood has 10 days to return papers belonging to Roswell to the city attorney. He can appeal the order, in which case it would be temporarily stayed.

I think he was terrible, as far as I've seen/heard, but, I can't remember if he was one of the anti-MARTA or pro-MARTA. I think maybe pro-. I know State Senator John Albers from Roswell is terrible and notorious anti-MARTA rail, one of the ones that killed the Red line HRT plan a couple years back.
