I don't think there's a separate "big" newspaper for Decatur. The only large newspaper around here is the AJC.

But, I'm often wrong...anyone want to educate us?

There's the Decatur-DeKalb News, which is distributed free to residents.

I live in Atlanta but in a neighborhood that is very close to Decatur.

I forgot about the Decatur-Dekalb News....woudl it be considered a "big" paper? Even if not, it's certainly a useful paper for residents to know what's going on around Decatur in detail.

If your daughter is moving into the City of Decatur then she should be fine. It's a nice little city.

Downtown Decatur is wonderful. There is no separate newspaper there (at least not a "real" newspaper). The best papers for rental ads are Creative Loafing and "The Sunday Paper" (that's what it's called, it's not the Sunday edition of the Atlanta Journal & Constitution -- which is also a good place for rental ads).

Creative Loafing

The Sunday Paper's online ads are peculiar and not very helpful. Better to pick up the paper (which is free and available throughout Midtown in boxes on the streets).

There is a 'little' paper/magazine--'Decatur Dispatch'/Hometown News.

Free--garage sales and tidbits of local news, etc

Decatur is about 10 minutes, if that from downtown Atlanta and AJC is 'the' paper.

FWIW, I live near Decatur and it is a very nice place to live. It has won some awards for being a good place.

ETA--

Just saw your query re/bf's employment.

If you live in Decatur/near Decatur--you can go all over the city fairly easily. There should be plenty of work for anyone involved in home repair/maintenance.

Bekay

Decatur (though it is a city) is really part of Metro Atlanta. While I am certain, he can find work in the area, moving to Decatur is not the same as say moving to a small town. You are really are in Atlanta.

I want to make sure you understand that.
