That would be unique if that was not common nationwide.

I love low-hanging fruit because it's so easy to pick and disregard.

You mean like this?

"Racial relations and racial segregation are two major components of sociopolitical issues. Outside of Atlanta, Georgia is very similar to Mississippi in those regards."

"I don't know about the rest of Georgia being comparable to Alabama or South Carolina because ironically neither of those states were still having racially segregated high school proms well into the 2000s. However, Mississippi and Georgia both still have county school districts that do. That is the primary thing that stands out to many about how pervasive that pattern of segregation still existing here in Georgia."

"Jackson is the most accurate depiction Georgia is basically Mississippi outside of Atlanta. Birmingham has always grew and progressed just not at the pace of Atlanta."

You can say whatever you want but MS and GA are strange and similar states overall when it comes down to many culturally things. Atlanta is the only anomaly about this state culturally.

Also I'm done going back in forth with you on this. You have your opinion and you are entitled with such, but those are the facts and those are irrefutable facts...
OK so name something cultural other than segregated proms that GA and MS have in common (up until the early 2000's) which aren't common in other Deep South states. The only reason you make soooooo much of this one thing is because you don't have anything else. And again, you completely neglect the other factors which are significantly more important which clearly make the case that outside of Atlanta, GA is more like AL and SC. Your argument isn't convincing at all.

I don't know why it is that some folks from Alabama, particularly Birmingham, seem to have issues with Georgia/Atlanta. I'm guessing it's because Birmingham was supposed to be the Atlanta of the SE but its leaders dropped the ball? This type of animosity is wholly absent in my native SC so it just seems weird to me.

In my opinion, it smacks as someone with serious issues dealing with their home State.

I mean I really don't get it. How can you completely dismiss the economy and population of the rest of Georgia, which clearly demonstrates that it is much closer to AL and SC than MS, but zero in on a few segregated proms and make THAT the only point of comparison? It defies logic.

Neither do I. I've spent a lot of time all over GA & MS, and I see very, very few similarities at all.
