They want up to 1 million of that square footage to be up and going by early 2019. This is why I say they have to have selected the site already. This whole public RFP process is just a charade. I think they have been eyeing Atlanta the whole time, but maybe had a few big things on their wish list that they wanted the local leaders to deliver on and the hoopla from the RFP process is greasing the wheels.

All of this. It was a wrap from the jump, they pretty much said without saying that they wanted to be in Atlanta. And the whole EST thing is a dead giveaway. Why would you build a second headquarters in the time zone up from you? That’s pointless and beyond stupid. But nothing is final until it’s final. We shall see.

Ahh, someone who actually gets how mega-reps really work. Whether ATL or some other place, even a 24 month window from award; i.e., late 2019 is a challenge for any city without a leg up. For the right partner, (city), we might even see early 2020 being an acceptable target.

They actually said 500,000 to 1,000,000 by 2019, which is doable in many cities. That wouldn’t be an issue for most big cities and even lots of medium sized ones just with projects recently opened or under construction.

But I agree that they would have to have some idea of where they want, but it’s not completely set yet I don’t think.

Don't disagree with what you are saying. What I am saying what is agreed too at award and what is stated in an rfp can and do differ in many cases. So not about is it possible, but what could actually happen.

They could find that much office space in existing nearby buildings today if needed.

Getting them ramped up with the SF they are talking about in the timeline they are thinking should not be a big issue if the money / commitment is there.

Doesn't the BOA building alone have about half a million square feet of space vacant?

I agree. If people on here would just use a little common sense they will be able to see what is probably happening.
