I have.

But maybe we're just as bad as Baltimore. Maybe it just feels different to me up there because I'm not as familiar with it.

Baltimore has great brownstones all over the city. They are well prepared for increased population. I wish we had brownstone neighborhoods.

Baltimore has a program where the city will give you money to help restore an empty house if you move in. Houses still sit empty.

Illinois and Chicago's too, public pension underfunding is a ticking bomb. This, along with taxes, and horrid winter weather probably hurt them considerably. Georgia at least, I haven't looked at ATL city or Dekalb County, is in pretty good shape.

But ignoring the problem won’t make it go away. In 2015, Illinois’ state pension debt reached a record $111 billion. Government-worker pensions already consume one-fourth of the state’s budget. And every day Illinois goes without a solution to its pension crisis, the state’s pension debt grows by over $20 million.

The results of that mismanagement were catastrophic: By 2013, the teacher-pension shortfall had jumped to $9.6 billion, and the fund had just half the money needed to pay out future teacher pension benefits.

Me likes it personally. The actor and and his attitude and views on Atlanta makes me think he might be one of YOU!

Chicago must not be too much of a ticking time bomb, they are offering Amazon a whopping 1.3 billion in annual income tax payback. In essence Amazon employees will be paying their state income back to Amazon. That is incredible, don't sleep on a place offering this kind of cash.

They are also dealing with bombed-out and abandoned neighborhoods on a scale that would be shocking to most here. Brownstones or not, we may as well be on different planets. I like Baltimore, but we have a much healthier and more vibrant City.

Watching one episode of The Wire would quash anyone's curiosity about living in Baltimore.
