Y'all need to be honest. MARTA is part of an overall greater Atlanta mobility deficiency. In the last 25 years, rail has only expanded by like 2 or 3 stations. It doesn't have access to the core counties. Then there is the highway system. While the roads are well maintained, the adequacy is WOEFUL! In the last 20 years, what major limited access roadway (highway/tollway) has been built anywhere within 25 miles of downtown? I can only think of the east-west connector in Cobb County. No outer perimeter or even northern arc. This will be used against the metro area when in comes to attracting new large businessses

Query: I know people love to rag on the ATL for not building more roads and transit, but where we would get the money for it?

Higher usage tax. Gas, car registration etc.

We may need to do it. I don't know whether it's all the new apartments or what, but I have noticed that intown traffic has gotten significantly worse.
