Now that the Westside of the Atlanta Beltline is open and many people have taken the weekend to check it out, I'm just curious as to what are the general impressions. Is it more or less than what you thought? Positives? Negatives? Overall, what did you think about your experience (if you have been)?

Pissed the Lee St ramp is closed off by a plywood board at the top.
Monday Brewery Garage was looking like Alpharetta up in there.

I was over there yesterday afternoon and was shocked at how few people were using it.
Come to think of it, Midtown seemed pretty quiet too around 11am to noon.

It's was ok. Complete opposite of the East side trail. Not even sure if I walked the entire thing because I got to a "T" intersection and didn't know if I should go right or left so I just turned around. If you are looking for a peaceful walk without all the people on the eastside trail then check it out.

I saw a house selling bbq plates off the trail. It was all older people cooking it so you know the food is good because young folks can't cook

Glad to see residents are embracing the new infrastructure and using their entrepreneurial spirit to benefit from the influx of visitors.

My wife and I got off at the Ashby Marta and was going to walk over there but after getting off that stop we saw a bunch of young kids just standing around and talking junk to us so we decided basically to go back. We asked a few people where the trail was but nobody seemed to know anything about it. Even the police officer had no idea. He did direct us to streets were the trail was supposed to start but we decided it wasn't a safe area to walk. What part of the Westside trail is safe to walk? I always just see groups of kids hanging out on the west side doing no good and don't feel it is a place I would feel comfortable walking especially with my wife.

How do you know they were up to 'no good'? I mean it was beautiful weather, why can kids and residents of the community not hang outside? If they were white, would you have felt any different?
You are correct in the WST starts at Lionel Hampton Trail, which connects to Ashby Station.
