Default MDC/MCCar Homes

Has anyone purchased a home from this builder and had problems with sinkholes in yards or under the foundation? Please email me.

Generally, sinkholes are caused by construction debris being buried in the ground. That practice has since been stopped.

Regarding McCar Homes, I think they offer a good product. I've never had any real issues with them.

I have a McCar home in Charlotte and we are still pulling large boulders our of our yard. No top soil all rock. As far as debris, my neighbor found a sangria bottle behind his drywall. Now if that is some of what we have, it is possible you could have construction debris under the house.

These problems are throughout the industry -- and have been for years. I feel that there needs to be more supervision during the construction process; all too often, the workers are inconsiderate of future homeowners who will live in those homes. Home builders simply hand over those responsibilities to subcontractors who have failed to run a tight ship during construction.

Since the building industry has failed in this area, maybe the county should enact policies and supervision to ensure compliance.

Whether you rent, own an older home or a newer home, this has potentially impacted your current residence.

Since you have to live somewhere, it is best to strike a good deal and focus on the details that save money & aggravations.

I work for a sign shop that does all the the mccar signs and banners etc. Every single time I step foot on any of the properties and dig a hole with post hole diggers, i spend most of my time fighting through rocks. They literally have just **** under their foundations. I love their homes and thinking about purchasing a townhome, but I have noticed a bunch of rocks and asphalt in their grounds.
