Default 35 y/o Single Prof, where to live in Midtown/Buckhead?

I am a 35 y/o single professional relocating to Atlanta. I would like to rent a condo in Buckhead or Midtown (maybe Atlantic Station) for a year before purchasing. I have read about all the "hot" properties: Plaza Midtown, Realm, Eclipse, Metropolis, etc. but don't know which area is best (Buckhead or Midtown) and which property is best.

I read CraigsList every day and would rather rent a condo than an apartment and they seem to be readily available, although apartments might be a little cheaper. I like to be able to walk to restaurants, bars, shops, coffee shops, etc. Since I am moving from Florida a pool is an absolute necessity!!! I will be working in Sandy Springs so I will have a reverse commute. My max budget is $1200 for a 1 bedroom. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!!!
