We're in Canton as well and use Windstream for phone and DSL. I think we have a 3MBPS DSL line, and between phone and DSL, we're under $100/month. In the past 6 months, I've only lost service once for about 3 hours.

Is AT&T available up there? I switched to them from Comcast, because Comcast's equipment in my current development was really old and unreliable. We were both working from home at the time, and could not abide downtime. AT&T's DSL wasn't the fastest thing going, but it's been rock solid - two failures in two years, both related to the DSL modem going bad. So, if they are available in Canton/Holly Springs, I'm inclined to stick with them...

I think it's available in Canton proper. It was Bellsouth DSL but AT&T bought them out. AT&T overall has a pretty bad customer service reputation, but so far (knock on wood) there hasn't been a ton of DSL outages or problems since they took over.
Your speed depends on how close to a phone station you are. I'm fairly close to one so my download speed averages around 6200 for downloads and 430 for uploads (it would be faster uploads but my router slows it a bit).
If you already have or know what your phone number will be up there, you can go to this page and it will tell you if it's available for that number or not: FastAccess DSL Internet Service

I still say Atlantic Nexus is better. Runs over AT&T lines.

I have AT&T (formerly Bellsouth) for 6Mb Fast Access Xtreme DSL (same speeds as Greg) and POTS telephone with unlimited local, long distance, and voice mail.
I pay $85/mo for that complete package. Pretty solid and only one outage since I've had the DSL service. It's competitive with Comcast's full price bundle, but you can get sign up discount deals with Comcast that will last a few months and their speeds are better on both up and down.
