I was very surprised to find out that a couple of places off Westbridge Rd in north Fayette County has some skyline views. The colder months improve the view and it's far out, but it's definitely noticeable at night

I could actually see the Atlanta skyline on a clear day (especially at night) from the parking lot of the office where I used to work, off of Old Peachtree Rd way up in Gwinnett. I think it was because of just the right angle of I-85 corridor (no trees), and I guess being up on a hill or something. I was quite surprised when I first noticed.

And then when I moved to Alpharetta, I found where to see the skyline from a couple uphill spots as well, especially in the winter. Kimball Bridge Rd @ Northwinds Pkwy is one that I remember.

I guess those are interesting because they're way far away.

Living in Vinings I'm pretty spoiled in that regard. Great skyline views abounding everywhere.

Here's one of my favorites:

Buckhead looks like its own, Atlanta-sized city. Looks like a completely alternate universe Atlanta or something.

Yeah, I used to work on the 4th floor of a building on Brown Rd out there, just above Sugarloaf. You're right, there is a ridge there and the view of Buckhead/Midtown/Downtown was very impressive. I used to make a point of showing employees from out of town, and they were always blown away.

That view was the high point of my day, I hated working out there.

Nice. Yep.

Know exactly the building you're talking about. Walked by there on N Brown thousands of times. Back in the day.

This is probably one of the most common/famous shots of Atlanta skyline ever (seen from Buckhead somewhere):

But I think it's one of the most interesting, because it makes Downtown/Midtown look like the same place. Makes it look almost Manhattan-esque levels of skyscraper density.

Whereas this breathtakingly beautiful angle (from Emory area):

Does the opposite of that, shows the distance apart of Downtown/Midtown. But yet also flatters the city, because it looks like one continuous long line of high rises. Chicago-esque.

The long perpendicular view resembles Manhattan as viewed from NJ or the L.I.E. Westbound.

The short “empty” spots are due to residential zoning and height limits.

Here, we’re not sun-starved so we don’t have to worry about shadows in the Winter.

I think this view is from the Southernmost parking deck at Lindbergh Center, behind Chili's and Longhorn.

Not so sure about that. The Westin isn't obscured behind the BoA tower from Lindbergh. This shot might be from somewhere closer to the area of the Grand Hyatt Buckhead or the Intercontinental.
