Looking for great high school in Morrow area
Hi forum:
I am strongly considering Morrow to rent a townhouse. What is a great high school in this area?

No disrespect meant -- but Morrow is in Clayton (unless there are parts of it that aren't), but there are not city schools -- only Clayton County Schools. Have you not heard of the accrediation mess in Clayton. With a high schooler it is essential you avoid Clayton County... Clayton has until Sept 1 to reverse this decision, but it isn't looking good. You are messing with your child's future if you move there. (this isn't even just my opinion for a change, it is a fact)

There are two high schools in the area...Morrow and Mt Zion...I have worked at both and I would say Mt Zion is the lesser of the two evils. If you don't mind living in Clayton County...check out the townhomes in Lovejoy and Hampton...I think Lovejoy and Mundy's Mill high schools are better...considering.

Really great high school and Morrow are mutually exclusive. I'd look in the neighboring counties (Henry and Fayette).

Morrow is a great city that is ran really well.Unfortunately the County schools with the accreditation issues is not a good idea at least until they are out of danger loosing it.

I would forget Morrow because of Clayton County. I suggest looking next to it in Henry. You will be in better shape later because of it...

Your child will be able to graduated from an accredited high school if you move elsewhere. With each passing week, it looks more and more likely that the Clayton County School Board will be able to get its act together to retain accreditation. If you move to Clayton, you very well may be jeopardizing your child's future, because most colleges require graduation from an accredited high school.

Just as the other posters have said, do not enroll your child in a public high school in Clayton county because the county schools lost its SACS accreditation. That means if your child is college-bound, his graduating from a non-credited public school will hurt his chances for being accepted into most colleges. Consider the high schools in near by Fayette or Henry counties.
