Default Window defogging

I have a huge window in my sunroom that is beginning to fog and I was told that it could probably be fixed if it hasn't been fogging for too long - but I've looked all over the internet and in the phonebook and I can't find a company in Atlanta that does it. Has anybody here ever used a service like this? If I have to replace this window it's going to cost me a fortune!

thanks!

Is this a double paned window? I have a double paned window that fogs up sometimes. My home inspector said the window probably had an imperfect seal and could probably be fixed fairly easily by a window company.

It is most likely the seal. The whole window does not need to be replaced. Just the glass. Any glass company can fix. How old is the home? If not too old, check to see if it's under warranty.

I have ten year old Andersen Windows in my home that the seal is broken on some and they are under warranty. Andersen is sending me the glass to replace. My home is under contract and an inspector will definitely pick it up so I thought I would just take care of it an avoid the hassle.

I don't know if you found someone or not but there is a window cleaning company in Marietta that does defogging. I believe the name is Sunshine.

Good luck

Did your window unit have any particular type of gas in-between the glass panes? Sometimes specialty gas is used to insulate the windows, and if that's the case, you need to go to the window manufactuer.

If there is not gas and it's just a standard insulated unit, it's easier to do. Costs for replacing a double pane insulated unit can range from $90 to $150 depending on the company, typically. If the unit is next to or above a door however, by code it would need to be "tempered" glass (safety glass that breaks into tiny pieces), and you can double that cost if it has to be tempered.

Send me a personal message if in a couple of weeks you haven't been able to find someone. The company I work for is capable of doing these, however, we typically don't deal with the public, and right now we're backed up at least 2-3 weeks on commercial jobs of varying types.
