Considering them for an upcoming trip to Minneapolis. Would love to hear feedback positive and negative related to flying out of Atlanta.

Haven't flown them out of Atlanta; but have flown Spirit. They are a cut-rate airline and be prepared to pay more for EVERYTHING you may need.....surprised they don't charge extra for using the bathroom.

Spirit is the worst.

Would probably be better off flying Southwest if you're looking for an inexpensive flight.

It's not terrible, but be prepared for a potential delay. You save more money if you book at the airport, just a FYI. I flew to Chicago and back for like $70.

It's been a couple years since I've flown them. Routes I've been looking at have been reasonably priced on major airlines.
They do charge for everything but I'm usually one that doesn't need all the extras anyway so it works well for me. Last time I flew, it was something like $3 for a can of Coke. That's honestly not awful considering it's Spirit. People pay $10 for tiny beers at ball games all the time.
It's cheaper to check a bag than to carry on (30 vs 35 last time) and honestly I wish more airlines would make it cheaper to check a bag than carry on. Note, that price is ONE WAY. So if you're gonna take a bag, basically add $70 bucks to your roundtrip total. This is why I've been using Delta mostly the last couple of years. But, a small personal bag is still free I think.
Also don't print out boarding pass at the airport. They charge/charge more for that than if you print it out at home.

All in all, I really don't think Spirit is that bad especially if you can really save on the airfare. I kinda like the whole "we're all in this together" vibe on board. Every single person on that flight is trying to travel on a budget. There's no first class. The biggest upgrade is choosing one of their larger seats towards the front (for more $$ of course). Their seat size is a drawback. Not a ton of room usually. I'm 5'11" and wouldn't want to be much taller on a Spirit plane.

Thanks - except SWA doesn’t offer nonstop to MSP.

Thanks - my only worry is a cancellation. Just sucks that Delta is considerably more than anyone else for this route.

Oh, sorry. I didn't know.

With Atlanta being a focus city for Southwest, I would think it had pretty good connectivity to all major airports.

Good luck with Spirit!

I ended up booking on AA - not that much more than Spirit (when you factor in a bag) and more flight options if something gets delayed or canceled. Half the price of Delta with a short connection in Charlotte both ways.
