(if this is posted somewhere else in the 644 other MARTA threads please let me know; I am bleary eyed)

What it'll look like in comparison to the City's Hashtag BRT routes, and MARTA's planned Northside Drive BRT route.

I like it. While it may initially seem redundant, it adds transit options in the core of the city where there should be a layers.

I get the feeling that MARTA is setting up for implementing both the city's Hashtag BRT proposal, and the streetcar / light rail plan.

I hope so. It would really strengthen MARTA as a viable option for getting around town.

Interesting.... I hate to put it this way, but I think there is some truth to it....

I think this will be far more successful than the Streetcar.

There is a good deal of final mile destinations, large center destinations, and college students on the route.

I fear too much of this will be taking pressure off GSU to run a more frequent Panther Express shuttle at a cost to MARTA. Not to say students aren't important, I think college should be more responsible for intra-campus trips vs. trips in-out of camps.

I also believe it is a route that has some upward development momentum coming in the next 10-15 years, so that is a plus.

I think this is good news, but I'm interested in how the BRT will be set up. Among other areas along the route, the stretch of Capitol/Piedmont from Fulton St. to MLK is extremely rough at rush hour. Ideally I would like this BRT to look more like Cleveland's HealthLine and not MARTA's fail of a Memorial Drive "BRT" operation from a few years back.

I agree. I'm also particularly interested in how this will be set up on Juniper and Piedmont and Midtown, given the planned complete streets projects that would already reduce both to 2 travel lanes with bike lanes and street parking.

This will make sense to me when it's a BRT on a fully 2-way operating Piedmont, from Roswell Rd all the way to Lakewood. With no turns, and no loops at train stations. (With the main connection points being Lindbergh and GA State stations.)

Until then, it's weird.
