A body pulled from the Chattahoochee River is that of an Atlanta researcher reported missing more than seven weeks ago, Atlanta police said Thursday.

Timothy Cunningham, 35, was last seen Feb. 12 leaving his job at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after telling colleagues he didn’t feel well. Cunningham’s family and police located his keys, wallet, cellphone, vehicle and his beloved dog, Mr. Bojangles, inside his northwest Atlanta home.

RIP

Oh man, I hate to hear this. But as time went on and he still wasn't located, chances of him being found alive just dwindled and dwindled.

Oh wow, No! I so wished for a better outcome, but with all this time passed, I thought the very same as you Mutiny. I have a friend from college who worked with him at the CDC.

My friend spoke very highly of Mr. Cunningham as a coworker. How awful for his family and friends.

According to what I have read, he worked in the Ebola and Zika virus outbreaks. You have to wonder if there is a terrorist connection here.

The ME is saying there are no signs of foul play.

Did he fall in the river somehow?

Quote:
There were no signs of foul play in the death of a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention epidemiologist, said Fulton County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jan Gorniak.

The preliminary cause of death is drowning, Gorniak told reporters at a Thursday press conference, but the manner of death has not been determined. The investigation is ongoing.

Or jumped.

From the comments that his family have made about the situation, I would lean more towards suicide.

Sad.
