Thank you everyone for your responses! It helps a lot!

As for the North Druid Hills area, I am looking into the Briarcliff Heights area. And for the Brookhaven area, I am looking into the area around Briarwood Park. Any thoughts on those areas? I know the best thing to do would be to go in person and scope it out myself!

I live across Briarcliff from Briarcliff Heights, and my husband and I have owned rental property in there for years. It enjoys a very good reputation as a friendly and welcoming place and is convenient to several shopping areas. The immediate area is almost entirely SFH, but there are some townhouse communities that skirt the neighborhood.

Both neighborhoods seem pretty comparable. If traffic is a big concern, I'd recommend Brookhaven. I've loved the N. Druid Hills area since I was a kid (I was determined to live there one day haha), but that traffic can get pretty horrendous in that area.

Briarwood Park area is about to get a new elementary school. Of the schools available in the immediate area, from a real estate value perspective, it won't be the more desirable one. Many townhouse buyers do not have children so that is not the biggest factor in the world but it will still impact value to a degree.

Ashton Woods is about to break ground on a spot in Brookhaven that is on North Druid in Brookhaven, where the Boys & Girls Club currently sits. (also new school district I believe). Walking distance to MARTA train (you could ride to Inman). Not sure of price point.

Ashton Woods is also wrapping up a project where Johnson's Ferry and Ashford Dunwoody intersect. Prices in low 5s I believe. These will be a good investment, qualify product vs say Beazer and many of the other townhome builders. (Montgomery Elem, great district).

I live in Brookhaven and we enjoy it. Having Buford Hwy restaurants in the backyard is a plus.
