We are talking about Idlewood Elementary. The entire district is south of Hwy 78.

Take a look at the map links above.

Okay, it just feels like the city of Tucker to me. I knew folks who grew up on Idlewood and they were all very much identified with Tucker HS.

Idlewood Road north of 78 definitely feels Tucker. But the Idlewood Elementary Cluster is entirely south of 78.

I could agree with this.

The new John Lewis Elementary will be located in the current Ashford Park Elementary district. I expect there to be some redistricting among Ashford Park, Montclair, Woodward--and possibly Dresden and Montogomery-as well-to accommodate the new school's permanent location.

With that, I see Ashford Park remaining in the Chamblee High Cluster along with Montgomery, Huntley Hills, Cary Reynolds, and the New Doraville Area Elementary. I see John Lewis going to the Cross Keys Cluster (to be renamed Briarcliff, perhaps?) along with Montclair, Woodward, Briar Vista, and Sagamore Hills.

And this all depends if the relocation of Cross Keys (Briarcliff High) to the old Briarcliff site actually comes to pass.

That CKHS cluster makes no sense...except from the standpoint of political correctness.

CHOA has committed some money ($10 million) to study and improve traffic in the area, but I don't know what they can do except maybe have Briarwood or Cliff Valley go through from Briarcliff to Buford Highway under I-85.
That plan is already in play as CHOA expands its campus down the Access Road to Cliff Valley. Another idea was to create a "perimeter" that would incorporate the Access Road, Cliff Valley, Childerlee Lane, a new road to skirt the new HS campus and meet up with Sheridan Road and then become Executive Park Drive.
There was also an idea proposed by an urban planning firm to tunnel thru traffic under NDH Rd. at Briarcliff and create a roundabout at the intersection. That gave the audience a good laugh.

Yes. I can't believe they got away with it for so many years, decades.

It's basically the Buford Corridor (and all that implies)...and nowhere else.
They've basically corralled all the ESL students together so that no other high schools have to deal with that issue.
