I do as well, arjay57. I see these huge, amazing 100 + year old trees being cut down all around us. It's sad, and it chips away at the soul of the place.

I hear you, JM.

But don't forget how resilient our planet is. Look at how they built Ansley Park, for example, which was typical of construction in that era. Then think about what it's been like for the last 50 years or so. It takes a little time but forests do come back.

Oh, I know. Inman Park looked the same back then. I've just really become alarmed at the rapid pace of it lately. It will take decades to replace what is being lost.

The developers need to at least attempt to build around some of the 'trophy' trees that can literally shade half of a block. It would only benefit them in the long run with asking prices over denuded developments.

Thanks for saying this. This gets lost on a lot of people

They look like tiny narrow 1 garage monstrosities. 18 feet wide by 34 feet depth * 3 = 1836 square foot, before deducting the garage and things

That may be the max they can do and still keep it affordable.

That’s pretty typical of townhomes. My entire neighborhood is 3-floor townhomes which are narrower than the ones you pictured. Our total square footage is 1352. Tight for a family of 3.

I don't find the design off-putting. I'm more concerned about the site plan and how crammed in they'll be. Broadview Place, that townhouse development at Lindbergh and Adina, has turned out to be a claustrophobic mess.

You may not like the way it looks personally. But that does not mean we should pass zoning laws to force your preferences on others, especially when it would result in reduced affordable housing options.

I think they look just fine.

Yeah...we went and visited there a few weeks ago. While the homes themselves are beautiful, it felt really crammed in. Hope no one there ever has a party with guests from other areas, as their guest parking is practically nil.
