Default More relocating questions

I coming to Atlanta this summer!!!
I have narrowed my search down to Candler Park, Lake Claire, Insman Park and city of Decatur. Are the first three actually cities or what are they considered? I am having a hard time locating them to get zip codes and the info I need to search for houses to rent in these areas. What do I need to look for to know that I have found a house in these areas? Also I have found contradicting info about what county they are in. Are they Fulton or Delkab? Someone please guide me so I know what to look for.

Thanking you in advance.

Candler Park, Lake Claire, and Inman Park are neighborhoods. Candler Park and Lake Claire are in DeKalb County. Inman Park is in both DeKalb and Fulton counties -- Moreland Avenue is the dividing line (DeKalb to the East of Moreland, Fulton to the West).

Here's a map that might help you:

Map of Intown Neighborhoods

Candler Park, Lake Claire, and Inman Park are in the 30307 zip code.

The City of Decatur is 30030.

Yes, Candler Park, Inman Park, and Lake Claire are in the City of Atlanta. Decatur is it's own city.

Oh, I thought that all of Inman Park was on the east side of Moreland and therefore in Fulton County? This doesn't matter for schools because it's districted to APS Mary Lin and not a Fulton County school. I guess it only matters for taxes...Inman Park paying city and Fulton county taxes and Candler Park paying city and Dekalb county taxes.

Am I wrong?

No, you're right. I was a bit befuddled yesterday. The fan blew on my HVAC and filled my house with smoke. Made it hard to concentrate. Inman is in Fulton. Candler Park & Lake Claire are DeKalb. The City of Decatur is DeKalb's county seat.

Of course, there are people who will say their home is in Inman Park or Candler Park, etc. when it's actually in a nearby, less desirable neighborhood. That may be where the OP is getting confused.

And that is true....the neighborhoods south of Dekalb Ave are in transition - Kirkwood is probably more along than Edgewood, too, so there's diversity in desirability south of Dekalb. But the Mary Lin district is north of Dekalb....
