This is just a way to siphon money from the city and give it to the state, and switch corruption from one demographic group to another.

This change has no affect on that. The state can buy whatever land and do whatever they want with it and try to contract with whatever airlines they want without Atlanta.

If he really cares about that, he should help cities like Columbus get a match for the risk insurance needed to attract another major air carrier (ie. AA to CTL).

At least that is a tangible change for a small cost using existing assets.
Yeah, I mean, if the state really wants a second major airport, they don't have to take over HJIA to make that happen. Macon, Columbus, Augusta, Savannah, and even other metro Atlanta airports are all there ready for the state to do something tangible to them when it wants.

Oh well, ignoring how a candidate who's party preaches smaller government is attempting to create a new state board to take over a locally-controlled entity, if it has to happen, then let's see the state make a proper offer for the airport. How many tens, if not hundreds of billions is the world's busiest airport worth?

It's about giving lucrative contracts to republican donors.

I am not even sure that the State has the legislative authority to do this. Furthermore, Delta and the City will fight the state tooth and nail. It ain't gonna happen. Just a bunch of politicians trying to score political points with non-Atlanta voting base.
