You are right, demonta, that's the question. These scooters are already out on the beltline. I say they shouldn't be, since the rule already is no motorized vehicles except wheelchairs and government types. If you allow electric scooters, then it will be electric bikes, etc.

Not sure about that. I just returned from SF and saw exactly 1 of these downtown. They don't seem to be embraced there.

Dockless E-Scooters coming to Atlanta. Let the assualt on short car trips continue.
Quote:
Called Muving, this Europe-based company has seen some success in Spain—more than 6,000 riders have rented its 75 mopeds in Granada—and it’s now expanded operations to make 2,500 electric scooters accessible to more than 185,000 customers in 12 cities, according to a Muving release published on PR Newswire.

This week, Muving deployed its first North American fleet right here in Atlanta.

Muving picked the ATL because the “growing city” is “a leader in smart technology adoption” with citizens “looking for eco-friendly transportation alternatives,” per the release.

Were they not already here? Oh, wait...actually opened the article. You're talking about scooters, not scooters!

After spending some time in your neck of the woods since my kid is in camp over there, I fully see why you guys are so anti-car. It's miserable over there.

I have several times suggested the use of scooters and mopeds in the past and pretty much been hooted down for it. Maybe it is my poor messaging skills.

That's because you suggested those in place of transit rather than as a supplement/last-mile connectivity.

No I didn't. They're obviously for short trips and last mile connectivity.

See the thread I started here, for instance.
