This mode of transportation accommodates only a select few. It is a novelty not a solution. I've got nothing against the idea and it could be useful in college-type areas (note the guy in the picture is a college student delivering an exam), but very few of us can get away with carrying only what fits in a backpack and arriving sweaty when we get there--if the scooter would get us where we needed to go in the first place.

If you are not exerting any energy and creating a breeze, why would you be sweating?

Because it’s 95 degrees and 90% humidity outdoors.

What's the excuse for Spring, Fall, and Winter? Too cold, too much pollen, too many leaves.

Yet people still walk and bike somehow. In terms of accommodation I meant building more protected lanes which would serve both bikes and scooters

Do you think bicycles are a novelty?

I forgot about that. These things wouldn't be much fun in the boiling sun.

A lot of intown streets a shaded. It would be better than being in a convertible stuck in traffic baking on the highway. Heck, a lot of the trips on the scooters are likely to take just as long as a walk from to back of a strip mall parking lot.

What could possibly go wrong?

I'm sure everything is going to be just swell in West End!

With something like 29% of Atlantans being obese, we could be in for quite a show! Scooters for everyone. It could get really entertaining.
