I will check out those places in Decatur. I would be surprised if I get a $1 a cd. I was thinking probably more like .25 to .50 cents. I'll try not to let them on as to how eager I am to unload them. As far as ripping to mp3, I really am not enough of an audiophile to distinguish enough difference to warrant taking up 600mb per disk. The disk space would be unmanageable. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-600 cd's and so far I have about 400 gig of mp3's.

You can also search the internet and download FLAC files of the music on your CDs before you sell them. Remember, it's not illegal if you own the CD!

Maybe some rare ones will be worth a little, but it's pretty bleak overall. Don't get me wrong, there is still a market or CDs and some stores will buy them, but people have been digitizing and selling CDs for a long time now, and the number of people still buying is less, so you just can't get as much as you used to be able to.

Have you priced external storage lately? 1 terabyte storage devices can be had for less than $60, which would easily be paid for by the CDs you'd be selling. Do what you want, but disk space should not be a limiting factor.
