What sort of income must one have to support $2,200 a month in health insurance premiums? That's my biweekly direct deposit after retirement contributions. My group plan is less than $100 a month for a PPO offered by a private employer.

Unless I would otherwise have high out-of-pocket prescription costs, I'd be tempted to select the most basic coverage absent any preexisting conditions that require expensive procedures multiple times per year.

What sort of coverage does a family get for such a high premium?
