I live in Suwanee/Duluth -- and, when we moved here three years ago, I started banking with Delta. Every interaction has been not great.

Every time I go into a branch, I'm waiting in line. Every time. And I go around noon or 3:00. I'm not going on Saturdays.

Every time I deal with staff I'm seriously unimpressed. And sometimes -- like right now -- I'm disgusted.

I know I sound awful -- and I'm not. I had a wonderful bank in both CA and VA. (In fact, the CA bank used me in their commercial. I just loved them.)

I need something new. Any suggestions?

Alley

I have no complaints about SunTrust. It's a major bank with locations all over the SE United States and is based in Atlanta, so you'd be supporting a local company.

Yeah I second SunTrust. I've had mostly great dealings with them.

Well, I know they have had significant problems, but I have always had a great experience with Wells Fargo.

Me too.

I have Wells Fargo just because I had Wachovia when I first moved to Atlanta. Back then, the logic was to use the bank that had the most ATMs convenient to you, and that was Wachovia. Then they became Wells and I just never switched. I thought about doing it in light of everything happening, but so far I've been too lazy and they still do have the most ATMs in metro Atlanta.

I hardly ever go the bank, but the WF on Pleasant Hill and PIB did impress me that they keep a supply of Euros in the bank. So if you ever travel to Europe, you can go get some there at just the exchange rate with no service fee, if you're an account holder. They did the same thing for me with Japanese Yen, but I had to order that a few days in advance. They'll also buy it back from you if you have leftovers when you get home.

Because the settlement checks from my employer ran through there, I banked for many years with BB&T and really enjoyed doing business there and always had a pleasant experience during the years that I banked with them.

Every time (and I mean EVERY time) that I conducted a banking transaction at one of their branches in person, the tellers were always courteous and one could tell that the bank placed an emphasis on providing good customer service.

Fifth Third Bank is another bank that I've dealt with through the years that always seemed to provide really good service.

BB&T and Fifth Third Bank are two banks that you could checkout.

Just do your research (very thorough research) and you will eventually find a bank that is a good fit for you.

SunTrust is great. Banked with them for 2 years while I lived in Atlanta. Love the location in Buckhead near Lennox Mall. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable.
