The frequency is really what gets me. Some of the new bus routes being proposed by MARTA are generally good - they do what everybody is saying. Long routes are being cut down to much shorter routes and more streamlined service, rather than zigzagging all over the place. However, the frequency is completely unreliable. Every 30 minutes for many of the new routes (the community circulators) is ridiculous. You'll never be able to rely on that to get to or from work. If you miss a bus by a minute or 2, you just added 30 minutes to your commute. I can imagine those routes getting cut in the future with claims of "nobody uses it", but it's not because the route isn't useful, it's because the frequency is atrocious. If MARTA ever wants to get more choice riders on the bus, the frequencies need to be at least 15 minutes or less, regardless of what type of bus route it is, during rush hour. Peak frequencies </= 15 min, off-peak </= 25 min seems reasonable to me.

We actually agree on lots of things. I just don't take those things to the compulsive level, like some.
