As we know, the aerotropolis movement has been trying to catch ground and now it seems progress is finally being made. Do you believe an edge city will actually develop out of this or will our growth continue to be northside oriented? Will this be a College Park thing only? What will happen in Hapeville and Mountain View (Which has been completely abandoned after the airport arrived and pushed everybody out due to airport noise issues). What will the community response be to this? I can see many of my College Park neighbors calling this gentrification, will this halt progress on the southside?

What is the third edge city? Buckhead? Emory/CDC?

I do hope aerotropolis/the airport becomes a true edge city, though.

I count Perimeter, Cumberland, and Buckhead though you’re right Emory is more of an edge city, just without the skyline.

What do you mean by "halt progress on the southside?"

Maybe all four our edge cities.

In terms of employment, Emory may well qualify, between the university, CDC, Emory Hospital, Children's Hospital and the VA Hospital.

Halt economic development such as new housing and retail developments (even though that's what residents want, many fear being displaced because of it).

I guess I still don't understand.

How would the influx of a half-billion dollars (or more) in investment and thousands of high-paying jobs halt developments like new shopping centers and subdivisions?

If anything, this would be the necessary game changer to greatly accelerate growth in the SW metro (especially combined with Amazon landing in The Gulch). The south I-85 corridor has kind of struggled to regain its mojo from before the recession because it's so far away from the corporate jobs on the northside

I was referring to residents who are afraid of gentrification.
