Where should I have my 30th birthday party?
I'm a young african american female who will be turning 30 on the 4th of July & I'm trying to figure out where I should have a party at. I want to reserve a VIP area in a club or lounge. All of my guests will be in the early 30s, so I don't want to go anywhere with a lot of young twenty somethings. I want to go somewhere that is grown & sexy. I would like to go to a spot that you can dance. The Fourth is on a Friday this year. I was thinking about Utopia or the Uptown Lounge and Bar. Please give me some suggestions. I'm sure a number of parties will be going on for the holiday.

You should go for the Velvet Room ==* VELVET ROOM *==, it's BY FAR the best place to party for the "Grown & Sexy" set every Friday Night. Franki Ski & Ryan Cameron on the ones & twos. You can definately get bottle service/rent out a private booth for you and yours. Their prices normally range from $500 on up but I would contact them directly. Have fun! |

Luckie Lounge, Barley's Billiards & Uptown Lounge and Bar are all great Friday night spots for the type of "Grown & Sexy" crowd your looking for. They are all very close to each other in various sections of downtown Atlanta.

Your Birthday
The Velvet room's average age is 25. You don't want to go there. I went there on Friday, the 16th. The lines were so long. They had a v.i.p line for $40 and regular line was $20. There was at least 70 people waiitng in line. Your best choice is Taboo 2; average age is 30. Uptown Lounge is nice. They have a live band from 7:30-9:30.

You cannot dance at Rare or Cafe Circa, but they are GREAT spots to dine before you go out and celebrate. I believe Uptown Lounge, Taboo 2 and Barley’s Billiards will do the trick for the DEFINATE over 30 crowds with a dancing scene/live bands. Verve & Velvet Room for the most part is an over 23 (females) and over 25 (male) crowd on Friday Nights but that doesn't mean there aren't 30 something’s in-attendance having a good time.

Trader Vics in the Hilton Downtown. Can't beat the ambience or the flaming cocktails. |

30th birthday
I (AA female) will be celebrating my 30th birthday on July 12th (Saturday). I'm also trying to find a venue. My guests will range from early 30's to late. I want a grown atmosphere where my guests can have fun but not necessarily "club". Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
