My wife and I are considering moving to PTC. We have 3 children, 2 away at college and 1 going to High School in '19. Both my wife and I would like to obtain part-time work. My wife is a speech therapist and I have recently retired from the fire service. What is the job market in PTC? My wife is also concerned about meeting new friends and feeling part of the community as a whole. We are outgoing and are considering membership in the local country clubs. We're looking for people whom relocated to PTC and were in a similar situation. Thanks!

This isn't a cheap shot about age, retirement nor anything else. After all, being a member myself is how I know.

The Stepping Stones Group is advertising on AARP for a Speech-Language Pathologist in Atlanta, Griffin and Jonesboro. But it looks like they may be looking for a full-time person. There are part time jobs posted there too but are unfortunately in different fields. Nothing showed up in Fire and Emergency. But Pinewood Studios over in Fayetteville may be of interest to you. It claims to be the second largest sound stage outside of Hollywood, so I'm guessing they might have a need for someone with your skills.

Welcome

It's been relatively easy to meet people in Peachtree City. There are numerous Churches, civic organizations, clubs to join, and people are friendly. Most people in Peachtree City are transplants. Several neighborhoods also have active social committees, and Club Corp operates 4 golf courses/clubs in Peachtree City that offer a ton of events.

As for the job market, most people in Peachtree City commute to work at the airport or in Atlanta. There are some jobs in the area and in adjacent counties.

It's a great place to live. Good luck.
