Without it, they said they will be hampered in their efforts to transport healthcare and other essential workers during the pandemic and in aiding the economic recovery that follows..."

They are, and if we can spend billions of dollars to bail out private industries we better damn well fund our public transit systems. There is no excuse for this and the onus is on both parties.

MARTA already does fare increases by having plastic cards expire for no reason and getting rid of tokens in favor of purchasing paper cards.

Raise taxes on the highest income levels to make up for the debt then, disc. Modern monetary theory says otherwise to hyperinflation.

You're not making up $3+ trillion annual deficits only by raising taxes on the rich.

You know, like a modern world class system.
Which cities have trains every 5 minutes all day besides NYC?

If they can't fill up the trains now in Atlanta, how could more trains on the tracks at any given time be financially prudent?

I think every 10 minutes is acceptable.

Even the PATH trains between NJ and NY aren't that frequent and at night you have to wait a long time and then travel to Hoboken first before getting to your stop in Jersey City. It takes like a half an hour.

Raising fares won't help ridership, but when did an Atlanta official ever see a revenue stream increase that they didn't like?

I will support that only when all income from capital gains and investments is taxed the same as low wage workers.....

and both income eschelons get up in the morning at go to work at the same rate.

All publically traded companies should be giving stock to their low wage workers so that everyone participates in the stock market as a more equal level.

Shareholders shouldn't get rich off the backs of minimum wage employees without at least cutting them in on a little of the profit.

Honestly speaking, I've found MARTA fare to be expensive for what you get. NYC's MTA is $2.75 a ride, though getting into the airport on MARTA for just $2.50 seems like a steal.
