East Atlanta Neighborhoods
Can anybody tell me anything about the Boulder Walk and Village Walk subdivisions in East Atlanta? The houses seem quite nice and affordable (and more tasteful than The Preserve and some of the other neo-craftsman subdivisions), but I haven't seen anyone discuss them on the board here yet.

I can't tell you anything first-hand about the neighborhoods, but I have shot virtual tours at Village Walk and at The Preserve, so I can provide you with links to see inside homes at each of them:
East Atlanta homes for sale - Village Walk of East Atlanta - 1019 Leah Lane (broken link) - Village Walk
Intown Atlanta homes for sale - East Atlanta homes for sale - 1797 Streamview Drive - The Preserve

I looked at both of those before I bought in east lake. The 5way intersection of bouldercrest/fayetteville looked like a nightmare during the day. Also, Boulderwalk has a giant power easement running through it and you can hear the shots fired all day long from the APD training facility on Constitution/Key Rd. I decided to pass even though the houses were nice and the prices fair...your call, thats my take. Looking at resale I wasn't interested.

I think it's still kinda sketchy around those parts. I think the houses are nice but the crime isn't worth it.

When they put up the ginormous power lines and the have to build a big towering THING with a fence around it...usually in someone's backyard.

Normally an easement means the power utility has a right of way across your property. See all the details here: Easement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So it's like Arrested Development where the military has the right to drive their tanks across Oscar's orange grove.

We have lived in the BoulderWalk Subdivision for 4 years now, and love it. We have wonderful neighbors, fantastic community events year round, and our property values have steadily gone up. Great move on our part!
