Looks like both the TSPLOST and the Renew Atlanta bond program could be facing some uphill battles.

Not to mention the tens of millions spent on Northside Dr Ped bridge.

Ugh the roads around West Midtown are a disaster. I have to swerve every few seconds.

The City of Atlanta (as well as the rest of the metro) needs to do a long-term fiscal sustainability audit similar to what Lafayette, LA did.

The problems with the TSPLOST and the Renew Atlanta Bonds are only the tip of the infrastructure iceberg. Yes, there has likely been some mismanagement (looking at the Ped Bridge), and retail trends have shifted (looking at Sears and Toys R Us), but keep in mind that CoA had a $1 Bil. total infrastructure backlog that the $250 Mil. Renew Atlanta bonds weren't hardly dipping into, and which the $260 Mil. TSPLOST weren't really supposed to apply towards.

Rising construction costs certainly aren't helping, and have probably significantly ballooned the remaining backlog just as it has the original project lists.

How the remaining backlog gets tackled has yet to be addressed, and my suspicion is that things will slowly creep up on the city and get worse in years to come.

But it leaves the City open to heavy litigation from potential auto repairs due to roadway maintenance. That's not cost effective nor wise

I know a lot of great projects won't happen because of the shortage of funds and mismanagement, but Path400 was the one I REALLY wanted to see happen. Multi use paths along highways take advantage of the existing ROW and can tie areas together. Plus once they're in the maintenance costs are low.

Most likely the section north of Wieuca Rd and the Confluence Bridge
