How far away can I live from the Northridge exit off of the 400(Turner-Mcdonald) and have no more than a 45 min commute on average? Looking for nice home between 350k and 450k and best schools possible. We're used to suburbia, cul de sac's, and soccer mom lifestyle...
Was thinking Alpharetta, Roswell, Dunwoody, Duluth? Dunwoody seemed fine but the North Springs HS seems suspect to me... Thanks in advance! |

Any of the 'burbs that you mentioned should fit the bill...if you are concerned about high schools, I would avoid Dunwoody in DeKalb (30338).

There's a Dunwoody in Fulton or Gwinnett?

Yes...Dunwoody in Fulton is 30350.

Technically speaking, the 30350 zip code is not Dunwoody, but Sandy Springs (as of the past year or so). However, I still really consider myself a Dunwoody dweller b/c the center of Dunwoody is much closer to where I live than the center of Sandy Springs. The Northridge exit at 400 is in Fulton County, and therefore, in Sandy Springs.

Dunwoody is in Dekalb only but there are some confused homeowners in the Fulton-DeKalb border area in the Perimeter Center District.

Yes- any that you mentioned would be great for a commute to Northridge/400. You should be able to find a nice neighborhood in that price range- particularly in Roswell. Check out "Inverness" - great swim/tennis and right in that price range- including a finished basement. There are a lot of neighborhoods in that range... built in 80's. Sandy Springs/Dunwoody are great too- but in that price range it will be an older house- just depends on what you like.
Good luck! |

Yes, b/c we are in Fulton, not DeKalb. The dividing line between Fulton/Sandy Springs and Dunwoody is Dunwoody Club Dr. Strangely, areas formerly known as Dunwoody (such as Dunwoody Country Club, for example) are on the north side of Dunwoody Club Dr. and are now part of Sandy Springs.
