If i'm reading this right from December 2017 to December 2018, Atlanta added 69K jobs. Unemployment rate, which was above the national average, dropped from 4.1 to 3.6 during this time period.

There's nothing wrong with 25% growth in Atlanta that you have to try to tear down other places. That's very, very good.
What inferiority complex?

2010s Job Growth in US Metro Areas(MSA) With 1 Million+ Population

We talk a lot about how the politics of GA and job growth, but it's undeniable that the leadership in both parties has done a pretty good job of keeping GA growing.

A couple of things jump out at me via these state figures you provided us when they are compared to and put into context with the early on metro only job growth numbers list found in this thread.

1. The job growth situation in Georgia outside of metro Atlanta has been relatively poor and overall a comparative drag on the growth of the state economy & likely on it's population growth as well. That performance contrast seems to highlight the problem of what became popularly known in the 1990's as "The 2 Georgias".

2. The list of states here that are the strongest job growth performers in percentage terms is composed of "the usual suspects" save for one.

For #1, I think it is more of a nation wide trend. Rural areas losing jobs and population and urban areas growing..
