I am very sorry. I regret this decision. Please don't let the size of the homes fool you. They are very poorly buildt. My roof is leaking today and I could not get anyone to come out and repair it. They also installed 2005 used air conditioning units on my home. I had to speak to the president of the company to finally get them to change them to new. They are caucasian builders who pray on hard working blacks. BE CAREFUL!!!
Nobody is denying that Legacy builds a lousy product but how did you decide that this is a racial issue??? The houses that they sell to their white buyers are just as bad as the ones that they sell to their black buyers. Let's not start this crap!

I agree....race has no bearing on this. I am a "caucasian", but they sure have stuck it to me. To them, the only color that matters is green.

Legacy is an "Equal Opportunity" bunch of crooks

Default Hmm, I am suspect of some postings

I found this thread not long ago and it certainly grabbed my attention since my wife and I are buying a house from Legacy Homes.

I have to say that so far (we close in about 1 week) we have not had any bad experience in dealing with our Legacy representatives. So far it has been 100% great!

I would recommend to people that they consider Legacy Homes, at least in Forsyth County.

We get our inspection in a few days and our walk through with Legacy soon after. I will be happy to share anything good or bad.

Hope you did not buy in Hopewell Manor, tons of liens in there. Make sure you check with the magistrate to insure the title is clean.

What does race have to do with the builders at Legacy treat EVERYONE like that? Sounds like you did not hire an inspector that would have caught the roof problem and the AC. Please do not create a screen name just to spread racial tensions on this board.

Why do you say there are Tons of liens? Where do you get your information? What is a ton to you??

Thank you for sharing and I presume you have good intension's. We are in Hopewell Manor and I get my inspection this week. So I am sure there are no liens on this house.

My best advice to everyone who visits this site is to take every piece of information with caution. Anyone can post anything here and it does not have to be true at all. It only makes sense to be smart and follow through on every detail. If you do that in life, it becomes very difficult for anyone to pull a fast one on you.

We got in on this house right after framing/electrical and before drywall. It has been a great experience for us (so far). Since we have chosen Hopewell, several homes have went under contract. It seems to be booming and is quickly becoming a wonderful neighborhood.

There has been so much dis-information in this thread. Particularly when it comes to what they are doing at Hopewell compared to what someone might be experiencing in another neighborhood.

I asked about everything negative that others have mentioned here and really none of it was true when it comes to Hopewell.

Hopewell Manor, so far for me, ROCKS!!!

I will also say this, we got our appraisals in for our house from both our insurance provider and our mortgage company. All of them are way over our purchase price with the largest being almost $70k over. Not only are we starting with Legacy in the black we are way, way in the black.

FYI, I wanted to add that we have been visiting Hopewell Manor almost every day for the past 2 months with near constant interaction with the agents, builders and workers.

From my moderate to limited experience with construction, home buying and certainly having a home built, I think they have all provided top notch customer support, shown genuine care about us and the neighborhood in general seems to be growing nicely.

All of that speaks loudly particularly for this strange market we are in. It is true that since we came to Hopewell, the home prices have dropped 10K to "from the 180s". I felt like that is the chance I am taking buying now in this market and hopefully we have covered our butts with our home deal. No one knows where the bottom is and really where it will restore to.

I also wanted to say that anyone who has questions about what is going on at Hopewell Manor and wants answers from a REAL visitors (and soon to be resident) perspective, feel free to ask them here and I will reply ASAP.
