You should thank God they are still around! Many builders have closed their doors and aren't doing their warranty, people are having to pay to have stuff fixed or do it themselves.

I owned a home built by legacy back in 2004 (in Jonesboro "Deer Crossing") and I was NOT pleased. Yes, the home was beautiful and blah blah blah but to have your brand new windows leaking from the outside in with your carpets soaked in the hall is a bit over the top. Our foyer window on the second floor by the master suite was defective so they came out caulking, and repainting.
It took us weeks of the run around to even get that. I don't remember all the details but I do recall the experience was quite frustrating and left a lasting feeling of "Did I get screwed????"
Yes, luckily it rained before the warranty was up but to experience that is a bit much.
We also had to have them repaint several rooms due to poor workmanship. I definitely will research alot further when selecting a new builder again since we are relocating back to Georgia this November from Chicago (can't take the cold anymore).
I definitely will NOT buy a home built by Legacy again.

Also, any "bewares" you can think of will be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking of buying the Rosewood at Park Place in Avalon subdivision.
I would like to know what your thoughts are on this purchase.
I dont know if this builder is reliable and responsible.

i am considering buying a leagacy home in one of their forsyth county communities...
any good recommendations on home inspectors specializing in new construction?
p.s i went around to a few leagacy communities and went door to door and asked people how they liked their new homes...
reponse was 3 negative, 4 positive.
i did find that most of the negatives never had their own home inspectors at the time of purchase.

Are you guys still at it, you kill me. We have been with Legacy for almost 10 months and we have had zero problems with anything like you folks speak of. If we have something not right in the house, we call the warranty department (or simply schedule it online) and they always have come right out.
Everyone from Legacy have been nothing but professional and the house quality is top notch. And that was not just my words but my home inspector also said the same thing.
I sincerely suspect that you are either not being truthful or you are some how dealing with a totally different Legacy.
If you are having this many issues I wish you well with them but please don't just say Legacy is bad because they most certainly are not. Our house rocks and Hopewell Manor was even more than we hoped for!!

I haven't heard anything about that community, but an early post pointed out something that I think should be repeated. No one really comes to these types of sites to post "good" information. I think it's natural to be nervous, but as long as you are happy with your home and your experience, you will be fine. If you have good experiences write about them to help ease the minds of other nervous home buyers, such as yourself, but also, if you have negative ones, share those as well.

Prathers Farm
My wife and I will be moving to the area from Texas and are somewhat interested in the Prathers Farm community in Cumming. Anyone have any info on that one?
After reading this thread, I may call Legacy and find out who the builder is in that neighborhood, and see if I can get any feedback on him.
Suggestions?
