Legacy and Atreus Homes (owned by brothers) both made the bottom of the J.D. Power rankings for customer satisfaction and construction quality. Avoid them both like the plague.

That's nothing new. They have always been at/or near the bottom. Mainly because they do not participate with JD Powers. They are a private company- and they keep it that way. For better or for worst (generally, it's been for worst).

I was so excited about purchasing my home at the Villages of Hampton in 2006. I have had the same issues with the ceiling in the living room and now it has spread to the ceiling the master bathroom. The Warranty Dept has sent the roofing company out several times. They said it the stacks that come out of the roof was sealed properly. So they repaired it, but everytime a rain comes the problem reappears and it has gotten worse that it is also happening in other areas. I need help, I do not know what to do next. I have left a message with the Warranty Dept and a request online. This is an ongoing issue and needs to be resolved once and for all. I am afraid that the upstairs is going to cave in one day. There is a link, but from where?

Legacy did not sell the remaining homes in our community (Panhandle Valley). Now they have other companies that appear to be listing the unsold homes. Neighbors have said that they were told that the houses were foreclosed and the bank now owns the properties. They are now being sold for thirty thousand dollars less than what everyone bought their homes. Undoubtedly, this will dramatically affect our property values. Another note: the BBB has revoked their accreditation and given them an "F" in customer service. By reading the posts, it seems that Legacy provided better quality and service to some communities than others.
