I couldn't find a good existing Tucker annexation topic. Looks like Emory might be trying to redevelop the mall for some of its uses. I'm not sure that's a good thing. Northlake isn't exactly hurting for retail in general, but I'm not sure the mall site is a good one for this kind of redevelopment.

I heard the same thing about Northlake being reinvented, with part of it remaining retail and the rest becoming a medical complex. I'm not crazy about that, either. I'd rather see an Atlantic Station/Avalon type rebuild there. The location would certainly lend itself to this, as it is surrounded by solid upper middle-class neighborhoods.

Tucker annexation = Good.

And yes, I agree--Northlake Mall and the Northlake Area could definitely support an Atlantic Station/Avalon type development.

Read the article.

Has there been talk of ever building a new high school at the Northlake Mall site? A re-build/re-location of Lakeside High, perhaps?

No.

I don't where that woman is coming from. Randolph Estates is no more than 2 miles from either Tucker or Lakeside High Schools.

I agree. It's always had a Tucker mailing address (30084).
