THE hub!? How is that? Compared to Chicago or a big seaport city like Houston or L.A.? And with only a single Airport? The whole state of Georgia has 5 fulfillment centers. DFW alone has 10.

There is a minute problem. There are other cities in the Southeast that are just as logistically strong on the distribution front. Amazon knows this, thus they locate these large distribution centers throughout the region rather just in Metro Atlanta.

Well let me rephrase it. We are competing in the southeast. A product stored in the LA or Chicago will take long time to be shipped to the southeast.
With UPS, Delta, and now Northfork, we are uniquely positioned. There are some merits for the logistic giants to pick us.
No expert on this topic but I guess we are at the foot of the Appalachian, which makes states above us hard to travel. Additionally, we are relatively immune from Hurricanes.
We are also on the backbone of IT infrastructure.

I don't think the poster was suggesting that Amazon should only expand or located in the Atlanta metro. Rather they were probably wondering why Amazon hasn't expanded further in the Atlanta metro to- date given Atlanta's status as a logistics hub.
