Hi, I was wondering in all honesty if Lawrenceville is a friendly place to move to for a mixed couple? He is white and I'm mixed. We are an older couple looking to settle in a friendly area and just enjoy life together. He is from the GA area, but I wanted to hear from other folks about Lawrenceville which he seems to be partial to.

Know that in terms of your situation, you are far from alone in the Lawrenceville area.

Lawrenceville resides in Gwinnett County which has been rated if Im not mistaken within the top 10 most diverse counties in the country. I lived in Lawrenceville for some time and never felt uncomfortable about any form of racial concerns. It seems to be mixed between blue and white collar where as some people commute to places like Alpharetta, Perimeter, Buckhead and even as far as Downtown. There's local jobs along Satelite Blvd near Duluth / Suawanee that is also a hotspot for employment. I will have to say, Lawrenceville isn't an easy place to commute from. If you have to use I-85 during commute hours, bring a good book, you cant have your phone out while driving ... If you're lying back though, retired, work pretty close, you have nothing to worry about though.

Lawrenceville is also a pretty safe environment as far as crime is concerned. You're also not far from Mall of GA, Sugar Mills, and its gentrifying Downtown Lawrenceville area.
