You're touching on something that needs to be defined. For some people, "from" means born whereas with others, it can mean a place you were raised and/or lived for a long time. For example, if you have lived in a place for 5+ years and go abroad and someone asks where you are from, you'd say the place you came from versus were born. Again, others might see "from" as where they're born and so it's up to them to answer according to how they use the word.



With that accent of hers, I wouldn't be mad if she said she's from Atlanta and the Bronx.

Your confusing a style to how she actually talks. She sounds nothing like a southern female or a Atlanta female. She sounds like a Dominican female from NY. She grew up in between The Bronx and Washington Heights so that’s why she doesn’t sound like Fat Joe a Puerto Rican and Remy Ma a African American.

Monica/Tiny/Rasheda/Kandi those are Atlanta Women and sound like it. How does Cardi B sound remotely like them? Her style of music is reminiscent of the “ATL” sound but she’s a NYer rapping over “southern” style beats. She has producers and writers from Atlanta among other places.

She didn’t move to Atlanta till she got with her Atlanta Husband which was in her 20s. She got popular off of Love and Hiphop New York not Atlanta. I know Atlanta is not that thirsty too claim Cardi B out of all people now. Lol

Atlanta isn't that thirsty it's just clueless people on city-data that are, as usual. Cardi B is New York all the way, she hasn't even been living in Atlanta that long.

Think about all the great scholars, business leaders, athletes, and other prominent people who've been associated with the ATL. Many of them started somewhere else and had homes in other place, too.

Why should rappers be singled out for different treatment?
