This is so sad...and pathetic...

The City of Atlanta has failed to spend $41 million meant to house people with AIDS and HIV as a crisis over unpaid contractors threatens to leave 250 clients homeless , according to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development figures.

Atlanta has consistently failed to spend its full share, all the while making chronically late reimbursements to agencies that provide the subsidized housing. Nonprofits that contract with the city are outraged over the spending holdups..."

She probably spent it all buying first-class tickets for her husband and all their friends to travel to other cities to see how they spend their HIV housing funds.

They can donate those unused funds other Southern cities just as many HIV+ and at-risk residents are in dire need of those HUD/HOPWA funds like NOLA, Memphis, and Birmingham, who all use up theirs every year. This is the third year in a row they have repeated this pattern, so I am just going to say the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office and merit-based leadership in the Department of City Planning/Office of Housing and Community Development aren't concerned about facilitating HOPWA funds from HUD. They can relinquish those funds permanently.
