Pretty cool.

And I'm sure we can think of other nominees as well.

These metro Atlanta restaurants have been open for more than 25 years

LOVE THIS LIST!! I've been to 36--need to up my game. Half of these are places I used to go with my dad (Collonnade, The Old Brick Pit). The other half are places we used to call "that new place" (Nuevo Laredo)--feeling old!!

Others coming to mind:
The Sun Dial
Swan Coach House
Flying Biscuit
Old Vinings Inn
Hemingways in Marietta
Pero's Pizza
Taxco on Roswell Rd.
Athens Pizza
The Mad Italian

dive bars: Five Paces Inn, Buckhead Pool Hall

Those are great, Jan!

Also one you mentioned the other day, R. Thomas.

I think the White House has been around since the 1940s.

McKinnon's has probably been there 40 years or more, too.

I agree! They also have the best fried okra and chicken livers in town as well, in my opinion.

I'm overdue for a visit.

You could probably go on for a bit, just on pizza places—Mellow Mushroom (yeah, it’s a big chain now, but it has kept a bit of what made it original), Fellini’s (La Fonda) . Grant Central Pizza has been around for quite awhile.
Alon’s is a bakery, but I always remember eating sandwiches there.
I have been eating at the Chinatown food court for over 20 years, and have seen some of the same vendors there for that long.

I didn't see Waffle House in that list.
How many of those other restaurants have their own museum?

I bet if we had a poll of "what restaurant did you find out you had gone to but don't remember anything from that night", Waffle House would be at the top.

Hmm. I haven't been to these older ones in a while.
Do cafeterias count? Were these 2 below mentioned?
I can't get the link on AJC to pull up to view the Gallery, just wish they would list them by name for a quick look.

Matthews Cafeteria - Tucker
On Main Street in Tucker has been around since the 50s. Still in its original building.

Anne and Bill's Restaurant - Forest Park
I know Anne and Bills Restaurant in Forest Park is older - not sure when it first opened. Maybe in the 80s? I'm sure it has changed locations over the years.
