Specifically, they're looking at Clayton and Henry Counties for a facility that could range from 800K to 1 Million Sq. Ft.

That's interesting. I'm guessing Henry and Clayton will become the Blue Collar districts of the metro.

That's interesting. Delta doesn't have single Boeing plane on order anymore so is this to meet expected demand elsewhere or just have an East coast presence?

Likely for parts, which everyone needs for their existing planes whether they have anything on order or not, plus possibly their 787 final assembly plant in Charleston.

That's what I'm thinking. It's really these parts that are/will attract distribution centers of such size.

What's a Boring distribution center? Don't they deliver planes to customers directly from the facilities where they are manufactured?

Clayton County has been blue collar for decades. There's no "guessing" about it.

See evannole's post.

They need a space to store spare parts and inventory used in manufacturing and repairinf the planes.

I wonder if this will help with the relation ship with Delta and Boeing, despite all of Delta's recent airbus orders.

This will mke it cheaper/quicker to have more access to maintenance parts for Boieng planes at their hubs, but I would think some sort of air freight contract would be advantaguous for both to get broken parts to planes at 75% of the country's commercial airports within just a few hours. Delta has so many flights out to most places, it could be an efficient delivery mechanism to a plane in need
