Default Apartments Near I-85/Buford Hwy/North Druid Hills

I am moving to Atlanta and would be working at this location - Google Maps

I am looking for a decent, safe & secure apartment community nearby. Which are the places I should be looking at if I am willing to pay around $1000.00 for a 1 bedroom apartment?

I have tried apartment searches but some of the apartment ratings (even for the ones that looked nice by description) were terrible reporting crime, bugs and other things.

How are the apartment complexes along and around Buford Hwy?

I don't mind a drive of upto 30 minutes but I am not sure of the driving conditions. How long would a 7 mile drive from Tucker to this place take?

Would appreciate any help I could get.

I would stay off of Buford Hwy...if you are drawn to this part of town, my suggestion would be to stay on the south side of I-85 (N Druid Hills).

Tucker is not far from this neighborhood...it's about three exits north up I-85 (N Druid Hills Rd to Chamblee-Tucker). Actually, the Flowers Rd area of Tucker (just south off of Chamblee-Tucker exit) has some nice apartment complexes.

Is it just me or does that link take you to Georgia (country), as in south of Russia? I'm assuming that you are going to be working in the buford highway/druid hills area.

I would start by going to Promove, an apartment finding service (free). It's on the corner of buford highway and north druid hills. I've used them twice and they have been a great help both times.

You should avoid most if not all of the apartments along Buford Highway. There are many nicer options in that general area.

There are several options along both sides of 85, north of north druid hills. Sorry that I can't remember any of the names other than AMLI at Briarcliff.

I stayed in a place called Windsor at Briarhill from 2000 - 2003, it is located at the corner of Sheridan Rd. and Executive Pkwy, about 1/2 - 3/4 a mile from North Druid Hills, where it crosses over 85. This was a great apartment complex and very easy to get to Midtown, Highlands, or Buckhead. I never felt unsafe, although there is some riff raff on N. Druid Hills. At the time, all the units had alarms AND they come with washer and dryers (maybe not anymore, but they did then - a huge plus for me).

Default Camden St Clair

I would suggest Camden St Clair. I lived there for 6 months before I bought my condo and my friends lived there for over 2 years. It's very safe, it's literally attached to 85, with an entrance/exit to the access road. Most of the residents are emory students or working adults, I didnt see ONE child playing outside my entire duration. We had a 2b/ba for around 1025 which included cable. Its on the the corner of Clairmont Rd and Briarcliff. You could be to Buford Highway or NDH in less than 5 minutes.
