Hi, me and my wife are visiting Atlanta in October specifically Duluth to look at some homes and apartments in the area. I actually worked in Duluth so i'm familiar with the city. Yet when we did live in Atlanta we lived in the Perimeter area so outside of work and grabbing something to eat in the immediate areas off Satellite blvd or somewhere off Pleasant Hill, I never got a true feel of Duluth beyond that. To be honest I didn't even realize they had a decent downtown till I started looking into Duluth as a serious contender to call home. So i'm just wondering for those who stay in Duluth, do you like it. Is it ok? Is there enough amenities? Safety? Good place to raise a family? etc.etc.

It's ok.

My biggest complaint is while there are plenty of fast food and high-end restaurants, it can be tricky to find a good meal in the mid-range if you don't want Asian.

Don't live there but frequent the area a lot.

Lots of ethnic amenities and food, good schools, everything you need shopping wise within a 5-10 drive and mostly safe.

Yeah, this is kinda true if you include Mexican too. It's a gem for Asian food though.

It is, but you also have to sort through a lot of garbage. For every great Asian restaurant, there are 5 awful ones. You definitely have to know where to go.

In my opinion that was my biggest complaint about Atlanta in general. It was a lot of good food spots but man was it a lot of mediocre to blah restaurants as well. So if that's the biggest complaint than I'll be right back at home. LOL Plus my wife cooks a lot anyway so that'll be no biggie.

I lived just west of there. It was Ocee Community, then Shake Rag, then Johns Creek although we had a Duluth mailing address. Very nice area. I do remember a tornado ripping thru but other than that it really built up since the early 90’s

I moved to the area right around downtown Duluth 2 summers ago, and love it there. The city does a lot of events in the downtown core; food truck fridays all summer long, concerts, movies, cornhole tournaments. And there's a pretty good selection of restaurants there, as well.
